The Economic and Social Council, or ECOSOC Council, is one of the six principal organs of the UN. It’s responsible for coordinating the social and economic states of the organisation. It’s also a central forum where economic and social issues of all member states are discussed and political advice is formulated. ECOSOC also conducts advanced analysis, agrees on global norms and supports progress.
